Query regarding a Nikon lens?
Hi,
I’m relatively new in the world of Digital SLR photography. I’m looking for a Nikon D40 camera that is coming bundled with this “18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor LensEN-EL9″.
In one of the reviews I’ve read that this lens is having VR support. But there is no VR mentioned anywhere in the description of the product. Can someone tell me if this is the lens with VR (Vibration reduction) support?
Thanks,
Indian
The package you are looking at contains the older version that comes WITHOUT VR.
Nikon made two versions of the lens you mention:
The older version had no VR but the specs were almost the same and it reads:
“AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II”

The newer version does have VR and its description is:
“AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR”

You would be better off buying the body only and then choose the lens you like, those lenses are very cheap anyway.

Camera $19.98 A unique and hilarious story about the Dogma-styled adventures of a video camera that gets stolen and goes on an adventure around the world, never leaving the point of view of the camera. It enters the lives of wannabe filmmakers, tourists on holiday and even celebrity stalkers. The camera gets stolen, pawned, lost and eventually finds its way to Richard Martini (You Can’t Hurry Love, Cannes Man). He just wants to make a movie but has no luck. And then an old friend comes up with a novel idea. Why not make a film about a camera? |
