How long is the battery life of the nikon coolpix S550? And what is an optical viewfinder? What is ISO? What does it do?
200-250 picture with the flash off. Playing with the camera, viewing picutres and flash will eat into that so it’s a conservative estimate.
Optical view finder is like the old film cameras. Where you look through a hole to see the what you’re taking a picture of (ie not through the screen). The Nikon S550 is not equipped with one (as with most other compact cameras).
ISO is the rating of the camera’s signal amplification. It helps the camera become more sensitive to light, thus reduce blur in low light conditions or in action scenes (just like high ISO film from before). but you pay for it in image quality.
I believe it can do ISO 2000. It is not recommended to exceed ISO 400 as the higher the ISO the more grainy/staticy the picture gets. You also lose colour and detail. Automatic ISO will keep your ISO low anyways.
