Buying Video Camera – Need Help?

Okay. My grandparents are looking into geting me a camcorder for my birthday. I know that they wont pay a cent over $600.00 so I am looking for a good camcorder with these qualities:

FireWire 800
Hard Disk
Optical Viewfinder (like an old camera)
High Definition

I would prefer these be part of the video camera, but it doen’t have to be high definition. I honestly don’t care what brand, all I care about is price, whether it has a hard drive, firewire, and a viewfinder. Please help, and quickly – my grandparents are leaving this weekend.

Only $600? You poor guy. It’s tough getting something for free isn’t it? How about adding another $200-$300 of your own and getting a really nice cam?

Why go HD? Flash cameras are a little more durable than the internal hard drives due to less moving parts, and the quality is just as good. I’m about to spend $850 on a Sony HD compact camera.
